Inspiration and Style

I want everything I create to have a calming presence to it. I love using lots of white, because it doesn’t take up much space visually and is easy on the eye.  It compliments every color plant or flower you put in it.  It also reflects light, so even when a vase is empty, it can still look just as good brightening up a dark corner or bookshelf.

I also have more bohemian collection line I call Dreamcatcher, that is inspired by desert earth tones with grounding lines which remind me of a southwestern desert dream catcher.

I am inspired by contrast, which seems to find its way into every piece. I loved juxtaposing soft and strong, smooth and texture, delicate and spikey.

Overall, my style is:

*minimalist in color

*earth and organic inspired flowers

*bohemian

Finding inspiration in flowers

The passionflower is an amazing site to see - it reminds me of an exotic sea creature, but you can spot it in the wild in warmer climates (like St. Louis and Florida!).  This flower inspired my vitamin shot glass because I use a Passion flower tincture to relieve anxiety and support better sleep.
The bottom flower I spotted on a trip to Mexico. I loved how delicate and soft it looked, and yet it was strong enough to survive intense heat and sun.

Cacti, succulents, and grounding lines

Sometimes I will create a pot based off of a plant I have and what I would like to see it in.  My Dreamcatcher collection came about because I wanted the right home for my succulents.  I was inspired by more desert tones, and grounding lines that give the feel of connecting to the earth and slowing down.
